The studio

Every wall we finish is built by hand, one fine layer at a time, until it holds the light like stone. No two are ever the same.

We work with lime, marble dust and mineral pigments, the same materials that have finished palazzos for five centuries. Every colour is mixed for your room and your light.

We take on a limited number of commissions each year. Each project gets our full attention, from the first samples to the final coat of wax.

About us

The hands behind the finish

Berkshire Venetian was built on a simple belief: the walls you live with should be walls you love.

Founder Chris and co-founder Ashley have spent more than 35 years between them perfecting their trade, and the last decade mastering Venetian and polished plaster. It is a craft that rewards patience, a steady hand and a real eye for detail, and it is the work they love most.

What sets us apart is how much we care. We take enormous pride in every finish we create, and we work closely with you from the very first conversation to the final coat, so the result is everything you imagined.

Chris was 19 when his dad was diagnosed with dementia, and he has been his carer for the last ten years. He knows first-hand how hard it is for families living with dementia, and how much the right support matters. Giving back to Alzheimer's Society is our way of helping other families get that support.

Surfaces made to be touched

A seamless 2–3mm coating for floors, walls, stairs and showers. It has no joints and no grout, and it can go straight over existing tiles.
Refined, quiet walls with a gentle lustre, colour-matched to your scheme. It suits whole rooms, hallways and principal spaces.
A single statement wall behind a bed, along a staircase or in an entrance hall. We create marble effects, metallic veining and deep, rich colour.
Our finishes are not just for walls. We can transform kitchen worktops, cupboard doors, sinks, basins, baths and even toilets, giving them a seamless, hard-wearing surface that matches the rest of your space.
